LEYTON: Acid attack at train station

A MAN is being treated for burns after a "chemical" attack at a train station. .
An ambulance arrived at Leyton Midland station, in Leyton High Road, at about 10am today.
Staff treated the 40-year-old and then took him to hospital.
The man, who is Polish and of no fixed abode, had corrosive acid poured on his legs and arms following a row.
Firefighters were initially not needed but later returned to the scene at the request of the police.
The man is being treated at the burns unit at Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford.
It is believed the incident began outside Few Metals scrapyard in High Road, underneath the railway bridge.
Three men, all from Plaistow, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A 24-year-old has been arrested and bailed until September 4 pending further enquiries.
The other two men, aged 28 and 22, remain in custody.
Anybody with information about the assault should call British Transport Police on 0800 405 040 and quote incident number 162.
